We love nothing more than getting buried in bespoke projects that allow us to develop handcrafted applications and sites for our clients. That said, we don’t want to unnecessarily reinvent the wheel for each client, so unless their requirements are very bespoke we choose to build our solutions around existing open source products that provide feature rich, well developed and well tested solutions. Many well know web products are built this way, such as Google Chrome which is built by Google developers upon an open source foundation – so you’ve got to ask yourself does open source provide a way to develop web applications in a more cost/time effective manor?
